How to copy a share link: step one of any video download
To download a public video you first need the correct share link. This page covers where to find it on Xiaohongshu, Douyin, Bilibili and YouTube, on both mobile and the web, and which common habits produce a link that cannot be parsed.
How it works
- Open the video and tap the share button.
- Choose “Copy link” in the share sheet; the link goes to your clipboard.
- Paste the whole share text into VidFable — do not keep only the title.
- Do not edit the token, redirect parameters or short-link suffix by hand.
Share links normally carry a platform-generated token or redirect parameter that the server uses to resolve the real video. Removing or editing any part of it makes parsing fail.
Mobile apps and the web put the share entry point in different places, but the copied link has the same shape. Pasting the whole share text is enough — you never need to extract the URL by hand.
A failed parse is usually the link itself: truncated, deleted or private, login-only, or the platform is rate-limiting. Copy the full share text again and retry.

The share text is a whole block — what do I paste?
All of it. The server identifies the link and the token inside it; keeping only the URL can drop the part that identifies the video.
Do short links work?
Yes. A short link is expanded server-side into the full parameterised address, with nothing to reconstruct by hand.
Why can't I just copy the title?
A title carries no video id, so it cannot identify the work. Parsing needs the platform's share link or the video detail-page URL.
