Instagram frequently pushes logged-out visitors to a login page, and that single fact decides which links can be processed. This page covers public Reels and video posts, what happens at the login wall, and what is out of scope.
How it works
- Open the public Reel or video post in Instagram and copy the link from the share sheet.

Instagram links look like instagram.com/reel/… or instagram.com/p/…. The service asks the platform for the media addresses that post publicly returns and delivers the highest deliverable tier as an MP4.
The important boundary: Instagram serves some public content only after a login. If a post does not open while logged out, parsing cannot retrieve a media address either — that is a platform-side gate, not a bug. The quick test is to open the link in a private browsing window: if it lands on a login page, it is out of scope.
Public Reels and video posts are supported. Stories, content on private accounts, follower-only posts and profile content that requires a login are all out of scope.
There is no channel here for an Instagram account, password or cookie. Any third-party tool that asks for Instagram credentials puts the account at risk, and VidFable does not do it.
The tiers a video exposes can change over time as the platform adjusts what it returns publicly. The delivery panel only lists what is genuinely deliverable for that request.
A carousel post can mix video and still images. Only the video items carry a media stream; a still item cannot be delivered as video — not because parsing failed, but because that item has no video in it.
Thumbnails are served from the platform's CDN as a temporary asset and can expire. Neither the check nor the delivery depends on one, so a missing thumbnail does not change the result.
