Download a Douyin video
Douyin shares are usually a block of text carrying a token rather than a bare URL. This page explains why pasting the whole text is the reliable move, why Douyin's media URLs are short-lived, and what to check when a parse fails.
How it works
- Open the video in Douyin and tap the share button.
- Choose “Copy link” to get the share text.
- Paste the whole text, unchanged, into VidFable.
- Press “Parse and download” and save the file.
A Douyin share carries a token and redirect parameters that the server needs in order to resolve the real video. Copying only part of the text, or dropping the token, is a common reason a parse fails.
Douyin media URLs are short-lived: the server exchanges the link for a usable media address at parse time rather than relying on one permanent URL. That is why a Douyin link must be parsed on demand and cannot be reused indefinitely.
Douyin videos are commonly delivered as vertical MP4, at whatever resolution the platform returns for that request.
Douyin is sensitive to bursts of requests. If a parse times out or the link reports as temporarily unavailable, wait a few minutes and retry; hammering the same link makes the throttling worse.
Only public, non-DRM content that you own or are authorised to download is processed. Private, paid, login-only and region-locked pages never enter the delivery pipeline.
A Douyin work page, a user profile and a topic page are three different kinds of address. Only the work page identifies one video; a profile or a topic page is a listing that cannot be parsed, which is the most common reason a Douyin link fails.
A Douyin collection plays several works in sequence, but the collection address itself is still a listing. Open one of the works inside it and copy that work's link.
Frequently asked questions
Why must I paste the whole share text?
A Douyin share carries a token and redirect parameters the server needs in order to resolve the video. Dropping the token or keeping only part of the URL is a common cause of failure.
Can I reuse a Douyin media URL?
No. Those URLs are short-lived, so every download needs a fresh parse.
What does “no available node” mean?
Usually temporary platform throttling. Wait a few minutes and retry once instead of resubmitting the same link.
Is the delivery portrait or landscape?
It matches the source. A portrait Douyin video is delivered as portrait MP4; nothing is rotated or cropped.
Can I save only the audio?
The delivered file is the complete media the video publicly returns. Extract the audio locally after downloading if that is what you need.
Why is the resolution different from last time?
What a platform returns publicly changes over time. Each request selects the highest tier deliverable at that moment, so two runs can differ.
